Brick Work
BRICK WORK Bravo Construction does extensive work on brick homes, from laying and installing new brick facades to stripping,washing, repointing and restoring old brick facades. BRICK CLEANING Paint is stripped from painted brick with a heavy duty paint stripper (Type D by Prosoco), which cuts through multiple layers of paint build up. It is applied by hand, and allowed to set for 24 hours. The paint will then be flushed from the masonry with pressure water spray at a pressure rate that does not harm the brick. Pedestrians and surrounding buildings are protected with heavy coverings. REPOINTING In any masonry structure the mortar in the joints between bricks or stones eventually deteriorates. In order to retain the stones or bricks in place and to prevent water infiltration, missing mortar should be replaced. Re-pointing is the process of removing deteriorated mortar from the joints of the masonry wall and replacing it, creating a watertight seal. Mortar is tinted to achieve a close match to existing mortar colors.
